Alber, Johann Nepomuk

Alber, Johann Nepomuk, théologien catholique hongrois, né à Óvár le 7 juillet 1753, mort vers 1840. Il écrivit un vaste ouvrage sur l'herméneutique en 16 vols. (Interpretatio Sacrae Scripturae, Pesth, 1801-4), que Horne recommande comme une réfutation habile des opinions des théologiens antinaturalistes d'Allemagne. Il écrivit aussi Institutiones Historiae Ecclesiasticae (Vienne, 1793) ; Institutiones Hermeneuticoe, 1817 ; et Institutiones Linguæ Hebraicæ, 1826. Voir Hoefer, Biog. Générale. 2, 539.
