Andrew Achigian (Ignatius XXIV)

Achigian, Andrew, sectateur monophysite asiatique qui entraîna un parti de sa secte à abandonner, pour quelque temps, leur religion et à s’unir aux romanistes. Il avait été formé à Rome et fut nommé patriarche d’Antioche par le pontife romain. Il prit le titre d’Ignatius XXIV. Voir Mosheim, Hist. of the Church, bk. 4 cent. 17 pt. 1, ch. 2, § 2.
